Advanced Arcade

Excerpt

A solid script with a basic set of features. Advanced Arcade isnt going to set the world on fire, but it does its job well. Beware of the extra costs associated with support after the first 6 months, that appears quite expensive.

First Impressions

This script comes to you from MediaScripts.com. First impressions are quite good, the site looks very professional, and outlines pretty much every detail you could wish to know about the script. All the key features are listed in an easy browse format, the requirements are specified, a demo exists for the frontend and admin area, and the ordering system looks to be well thought out.

Demo

There were no obvious problems with the frontend demo and everything appeared to be working fine, this is obviously a script with some maturity. The appearance of the script is fairly standard, a pretty typical table like structure with game thumbnails, descriptions and links. The admin area is logically organised. I particularly liked the advertisement section. Certain features were apparently disabled in the demo, so its difficult to say whats missing exactly.

Features

Advanced Arcade is a solid product, but its not great on features. From the appearance of the demo its missing some of the cutting edge features you would find in products like Arcadem Pro - news, trophy system, challenge system, social bookmarking etc.

Quality

Quality seems to be pretty reasonable. I couldnt spot anything out of the ordinary with this script.

Pricing

At $49.95, the price for Advanced Arcade is competitive. With 2100 games included its certainly not overpriced. I think it represents average value in the marketplace.

Support

The basic package gets you 6 months support and upgrades. I imagine the support would be pretty good, since Mediascript make a number of products, including their social media script which seems quite popular. Without any first hand experience its difficult to judge. Support consists of an FAQ, forums and ticket system which gives it an edge in comparison to many other scripts. Additional support for each additional year is $25. Thats not a totally unusual business model to go with, but it is a tad expensive.

Gamepacks

The basic setup comes with 2100 games. Currently there doesnt seem to be any other gamepack upgrades available from their site.

Copyright

Copyright must remain intact with the purchase of the basic page. Removal costs $25.

Installation

Available for $25, could be cheaper since installation is generally a snap with these scripts.

Other Details

The site lists an area for additional templates but none were available at the time of writing this review.

Overall

My overall assessment of Advanced Arcade is generally positive. Its a solid script well suited to a basic arcade. It does lack features and support is overpriced, but if your after a script from what looks to be a reputable outlet, it could be worth checking out

Hoping for a  review copy :)

Not worth the money. It’s encoded and the free scripts have the same features.
