Flash Game Script doesnt come cheap, and I would think long and hard before parting with my hard earned $. It looks a mature product, but possibly one thats in stasis atm. Ask around and see the feedback you get.

First Impressions

This script comes to you from FlashGameScript.com, developed by ghoney.com. This script is quite mature and has been on the market for quite some time. The last listed update, with the addition of new templates was halfway through 2007 as of writing this review, so its well overdue for a core update. The website itself has all the information you would need although I found some aspects of the navigation on the site a bit old school.

Demo

Demos exist for the front and backend, and I found the front to be pretty good actually. The admin area is quite compact, and loads quicker than some others, like Arcadem Pro for example, that was a pleasant surprise.

Features

Pretty strong set of features although nothing out of the ordinary, google sitemap integration and the advertising options stood out. Looking at the feature list indicates it is missing some of the advanced features found in other scripts, high scores, challenge system, trophy system etc and no multilingual support. Overall though a solid package, if not remarkable.

Quality

Its been around for a while, currently at version 1.7, so you would think the majority of heavy bugs would be sorted. What I saw certainly seemed ok.

Pricing

Lets just say that I hope your prepared to take out a personal loan cause the cost is tremendous. Its the most expensive arcade script I have ever seen, but is it worth it? mmm

Trial - $69.00 - 140 games, 120 movie clips + script

Standard - $99.00 - 350 games, 240 movie clips + script

Professional - $329.00 - 2100 games, 480 movie clips + script

Automated - $599.00 - 2100 games, 480 movie clips, an additional 240 movie clips every month, free install.

Ok so if your still standing you can see the prices are just insane lol. Its obvious they havent revised them in some time, but hey, you may be familiar with the script or have been recommended it, if you can afford it, go for it.

Support

The section provided a set of useful email addresses should you get stuck and a support forum exists. From a brief browse it doesnt look terribly active, especially over the last few months. You might want to ask around if you intend to buy this product atm, check on whether its still being actively supported. It does seem support is provided free of charge however and for an unlimited time. It all depends if thats active though.

Gamepacks

I couldnt find a section on gamepacks, so im unsure if they are available as an optional extra. I imagine you could tweak most gamepacks to work with it.

Copyright

Available for $60. Too expensive and really you should be able remove any copyright if you own the script.

Installation

$25 for installation. A reasonable fee I would suggest, and at a price others would do well to copy. If you need an installation job, contact me

Other Details

Nothing else comes to mind. Check the script is actively supported though, and if you plan on buying the pro version or better, check to see if you still get the regular movie clip updates. I would email the admin regarding these issues.

Overall

A solid script thats survived the test of time. Currently, progress on the script seems to have come to a halt, but previous version should work reasonably well. Very, very expensive for what you get - the most expensive on the market. Good value install price though.
