One of the original scripts, now into version 4.6 indicates a product with plenty of work behind it. It has now probably been supersceded by other offerings, but hundreds of people have used it and love it. The choice is yours.
First Impressions
GameScript has been around a long time, and the guys that run in it know there arcades. The website is strictly focused on gamescript and nothing else, giving you all the features and screenshots you could want. All the details are covered and presented in a way thats very easy to access. In fact, aside from a missing admin demo, i found the best yet.
Demo
The frontend demo loads directly in the browser rather than whisk you away to another site, the stock template isnt anything special but it does give you a good feel for the script. Unfortunately I couldnt access an admin demo, which is a little disappointing but the screenshots indicated a product that was fairly easy to use.
Features
The feature set? well again its pretty standard fare. Gamescript is on version 4.6 so the product is well and truly tested, but you might expect something more feature rich perhaps. If your not after anything with the sophistication of Arcadem Pro for example, this is great option.
Quality
Been around for ages, all reports indicated the quality of the script is generally excellent.
Pricing
The order area at gamescript is probably the most comprehensive ive seen, everything is on one page which is a fantastic idea. There are several versions available, none of which include games as standard.
- The basic script - $79.99 - Versions A, B or C, means the basic script can come with 3 differant templates, all of which are pretty damn good. Links to demonstration sites sporting these themes are found on the bottom of main page.
- An all in one version - $99.99- That comes with all 3 templates included.
- GS License + Games - $249.99 - Comes with all templates, 750 games, copyright removed, and a totally unencoded script.
- GS + Games Mega Pack - $349.99 - Same as above, but with 1550 games.
- GS + Mega Games & Movies - $569.99 - Same as above, with 2000 movies and free install
- GS + Mega Games & Heaps of Movies - $789.99 - As above with 4000 movies instead of 2000
Support
There are several support options - forums, email and ticket based support. Ticket based support is still pretty rare, so thats a welcome addition. Any package purchase entitles you up to 1 year support, additional years cost $24.99.
Gamepacks
A plethora of options are available on the gamepack front and that is something to be commended. There are 6 differant game packs available with 250 games each, all of them cost $39.99
Copyright
Will cost $59.99 to remove, or if you buy an “owned” version its automatically removed.
Installation
Installation is available for $24.99. A reasonable price considering what GS charges in other areas, and well worth the money.
Other Details
Nothing else at this time, everything is available on the website.
Overall
A well known script and quality script. If you buy GS, you know your getting something used on hundreds of websites, and backed up by people that have the experience. The basic script is reasonable value, but anything beyond that is clearly overpriced. Copyright removal is expensive, gamepacks are expensive etc. The standard themes are great though. In the end its a mixed bag with GameScript.
